Dangerous Balancing artist Eskil Ronningsbakken
Eskil Ronningsbakken started his balancing career only five years old, and he saw a yogin serenely balancing. He performed professionally for nearly 14 years. Now he is the most famous balancing artists in the world. His balancing acts as expressions of art and not stunts. He join the circus in 18 years old. Eskil perfected his craft under the expert guidance of Peter Jakob, a supervisor with the Moscow State Circus. But Now Eskil has reached a level of athletic excellence with spiritual peace.
His next dream is to perform his amazing stunts on top of the Burj al Arab Hotel, in Dubai. Currently he performs a group of 50 like-minded performers in Nairobi in Kenya.
In March 2007, he was able to balance on a single Ice Cube, which measured 60 cm by 35cm, is supported at each end of only two ropes and suspended almost 1000ft above a glacier in a Norwegian National Park. In the same year he set up and down and did a hand stand on one trapeze bar placed under a hot air balloon.
A stunt is something you see in the movies, often carried out with mattresses, safety lines or nets. Some of the stunts he has done in a Norwegian fjord is made more difficult by the wind blowing at a height of 1000 meters through a very narrow corridor. And are exposed to such extreme weather without any clothes to wear can take its toll on the human body.
One of the previous stunts he performed was to promise to hot air balloons in the air, connected with a cable, and then to walk from one to another, several thousand feet up in the air. The balancing acts he does might, indeed, seem a work of art.
He is fully aware of the risks he takes with its balancing. He said “I feel terrible, I naturally do, we are humans and we have a natural sense of self-preservation.
