These are Digitigrade leg extensions. They are made of steel and add 14 inches of height to the wearer. But these are not ordinary stilts; they give a person the uncanny and graceful appearance of an animal. It is really cool! The movement of the legs is genuinely graceful and naturalistic. It is a great deal of fun being so much taller.

Cost
These are custom fitted, hand-fabricated units. The core leg extensions are between $750 – $780 plus tax. The spring loaded hooves are $200 extra.

We have a wonderful costumer who can made the additional fur costume to order.

These come in three sizes. I will need to know the height of your shin from ankle to the center of your knee when bent. I also must know the girth of the center of your shin and thigh. Our Medium will fit about 80% of most folks.

Terrain
Level surfaces are easy. Sharp inclines are difficult and stairs are downright touchy. These can go out of doors for Renfairs and a day in the park. No, you cannot roller skate in them.
Balance

It takes a person about 10 to 15 minutes to learn to comfortably walk in them. If you snowboard, it takes about 15 seconds.

Speed
A brisk walk is best, running is very hard.

Comfort
I can wear these about 5 hours. We are working on an improvement that should allow 8 hours of comfortable wear.

Stress Points
A whole different set of muscles are used when walking in these. The muscle across the front of the shin fatigues first as does the top of the foot.

Weight and Height
They weigh 6.5 pounds a leg. My satyr costume with hooves adds 1.2 pounds per leg. The wearer becomes 14 inches taller.

Materials
These are steel, steel cable, foam and ABS rigid plastic. They can handle a 300 pound person easily.

Ease of Use
It takes about 60 seconds to get in and out of them. It is best to do this at a bar stool height because you are so much taller. Getting out of an ordinary chair is difficult, a kitchen table is better.

If you want a fur costume built around your leg extension, we might need to modify the design somewhat. With our fur it takes an additional 3 minutes to get into and out of the set.
